Since it's introduction in 1994 the AR-152 FITA mat has become the standard in competition around the world. However over the last 18 years archery equipment has evolved. The ACC and ACE target arrow has been replaced with the X10, with it's much smaller diameter. The X10 is without a doubt the most accurate arrow ever designed, but it also penetrates 50 to 70 percent more than earlier composite arrows.

Bows, both recurve and compound, have become much more effecient, producing more energy, as well as much more accurate. All of this combined with the enormous skill of todays archers demanded that FITA mats change as well. In 2011 we introduced the HybriMAT series of competition mats to meet the changing needs of modern archery equipment.


For 2012 we are introducing an addition to the HybriMAT line. The AR-152 HybriMAT.


The AR-152HM is 52" in diameter, 10" thick with the Compression Core installed and weighs in at 70 pounds. This target is a more portable version of our larger HybriMATs and features a new 16" Diameter Center Core System, that is easy to replace. As with all of the HybriMATs the rear ballistic compression core can be repaired or rotated for extreme target life, and gives archers extremely easy arrow removal.

The HybriMAT also addresses the problem of shooting under wet conditions, when it rains the water lubricates the arrow as well as the target. This reduces the stopping power of the target by as much as 50 percent. The HybriMAT is unaffected by water, stopping the small diameter arrows under all conditions.

We recommend that HybriMATS be used in any sanctioned FITA competition, and especially when the compound round is being shot.
