Beginning in 2011 a new class was introduced in outdoor competition using compound bows at 50 meters shooting a special 80 cm face. We were approached by several clubs and organizations about designing a target that would hold up to the new round.
You see, most of the archers, if not all, shoot the Easton X-10, the most accurate arrow ever designed. At the same time the X-10 has an extremely small diamter combined with a over sized point and is fairly heavy. Combine this with the skill of the archers at 50 meters and we all knew it was going to take a special target to hold up to this abuse. The tiny arrows, put into the same hole repeatedly out of high power modern compounds would pass through most targets in short order...

We went to work and created the worlds first true Hybrid Competiton Mat. The Hybrimat is that target. By suspending a compressed polypro bag filled with ballistic fiber material in a laminated foam shell we achieved the following

1. Extreme target life
2. Arrows held for scoring
3. Reasonable arrow removal
4. Reasonable target weight
5. Portability
