We originally designed the HybriMAT for FITA competition, specifically to stop the tiny Easton X-10 arrow. In the course of testing we found that not only did this new target work great with the X-10, it had enormous target life, easy arrow removal and stopped everything we through at it...the HybriMAT Range was born.

Using our bonded laminations we built a target with a six inch thickness of high density elastic foam. when we reached a diameter of 47 inches we increased the thickness to 12 inches and finshed the target off, then we squared it off to a 54" size.
 

Using a combination of ballistic fibers we built what we call the compression ballistiCORE and suspended it in the shell behind the mat with elastic cords. These cords pull the compression ballistiCORE tight keeping the material in place, as well as filling the void of the shell.
 

When a arrow strikes the mat, the foam absorbs a good portion of the energy, and holds the arrow in place for scoring. The Compression ballistiCORE stops the arrow, taking the energy that is left out of the arrow. By stopping the arrow before heat can build up from the friction on the foam, the arrow pulls much easier, and the laminated foam opens as the arrow enters for extreme life. The Compression ballistiCORE can be rotated as well if needed as well as "Refluffed" in high impact areas bringing new material to the area. We also offer both 32" and 16" replacement laminated foam cores to repair your foam shell when worn for added savings. 
 

We use a HD (High Density) foam in the 16" Dead center for even more life in this high impact area.  We suggest that arrow lube is used in this area for the first 300 arrows or so.
